Solution: The Corten Wind Turbine

 

The Corten Wind Turbine is a new design of a horizontal axis wind turbine with five of seven very slender blades and a truss structure in the rotor centre.

Compared to conventional wind turbines, the Corten Wind Turbine reduces the following nuisance factors significantly.

  • Cast shadows
  • Visual impact on the landscape
  • Noise disturbance
  • Bird fatalities
  • Composite waste

Additionally, the Corten Wind Turbine is available in an offshore variant, which offers the following advantages

  • Lower loads due to reduced solidity
  • Half the amount of composite material
  • Better scalability of the rotor
