Meet the Corten Wind Turbine: A Friendly Wind Turbine

 

The Corten Wind Turbine is a large, more environmentally and socially friendly wind turbine designed to reduce the negative impact of wind energy on both people and nature.

 

One of the biggest challenges in wind energy deployment is resistance from local communities. This is because wind turbines can cause disruption such as;

 

• Cast shadows
• Visual impact on the landscape
• Noise disturbance
• Bird fatalities
• Composite waste

 

Compared to conventional wind turbines, the Corten Wind Turbine reduces all of the above nuisance factors by about a factor of two.

Additionally, the Corten Wind Turbine is available in an offshore variant, which offers a better price/performance ratio compared to conventional offshore turbines, though with a smaller impact advantage.
